345 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146
Spring Arbor of Severna Park is the first multi-story assisted living project attempted by HHHunt Development. Working as both architects and developers for the project, GSX and Grant Architects found a 4.5-acre site in the center of the community that was impacted by wetlands and an active stream. The project contains 92 beds of state-of-the-art assisted living, including a 36-bed memory care suite with its own private exterior courtyard. Utilizing the topography of the site, Grant Architects placed the entrance to the building at a high point that provides access to the upper two levels, which are strictly assisted living. There are a number of different activity and dining venues from which residents can choose, such as fitness, physical therapy, wellness, barber and beauty parlors, libraries, numerous living room and café spaces, as well as outdoor seating spaces.
The lower level contains the memory care area, which enters from grade at the lower elevation of the site. The kitchen, laundry and receiving areas are also located on this level, using an elevator/dumb waiter system to distribute materials throughout the building. The memory care facilities enjoy courtyards on both sides, plenty of natural light, an internal fireplace, a large aquarium and a wet wall to soothe the residents. There is a country kitchen and laundry area that provides lots of activities for restless residents.
